Lionsgate 8/8

A Honu, a Rainbow, and a Reason to Slow Down

Today, the portal opened, and the ocean answered.

I went down to the beach on this Lionsgate 8/8 and was met by a honu, gliding slow and steady, the way only ancient wisdom moves. Then, as if the day wanted to make its message unmistakable, a rainbow arced in behind her. Luck meeting light, right on the most potent gateway of the year. I carried that frequency into the night, chasing the Milky Way overhead, new energy above, ancient wisdom below, and me somewhere in the middle, feeling the frequency of it all.

Lionsgate is a reminder: slow down, trust the current, let your own light rise.

Here's how the day actually unfolded, one sense at a time.

The Honu: A Guardian of Good Luck and Safe Passage

In Hawaiian tradition, the honu is a symbol of good luck, longevity, and safe passage. A guardian spirit connecting us back to the sea. Honu appear throughout Hawaiian mythology and moʻolelo (stories), often as ancestral guides, a reminder that wisdom doesn't have to move fast to move far. A honu has been finding her way across open ocean for longer than any of us have been alive, guided by something older than instinct.

To see one is considered a blessing. To see one on Lionsgate, a day already associated with alignment and open portals, felt less like coincidence and more like a message worth slowing down for.

  • Moving slow and sure, right as the sky caught fire.
  • Luck meeting light. Right on cue.
  • Ancient wisdom, moving at its own pace.

The Rainbow: Ānuenue, a Sign of Blessing

In Hawaiian culture, the rainbow, ānuenue, carries deep spiritual meaning. Rainbows are often connected to aliʻi (chiefs) and considered signs of divine presence, blessing, or a bridge between the earthly and the spiritual. Seeing one arc in directly behind the honu wasn't just a pretty backdrop. In Hawaiian wisdom, it's the kind of layered sign that asks you to pay attention, not scroll past.

Luck meeting light, exactly when the day called for both.

The Milky Way: Ancient Wisdom Written Above

By nightfall, the sky offered its own version of the same message. Hawaiian wayfinders read the stars for generations, navigating across the Pacific without instruments. The night sky wasn't decoration, it was direction. Standing beneath the Milky Way, I felt that same relationship: new energy above, ancient wisdom below, and me somewhere in the middle, feeling the frequency of it all.

  • New energy above, ancient wisdom below.
  • Somewhere in the middle, feeling the frequency of it all.

What Lionsgate Asked of Me

None of this happened because I sought it out. It happened because I showed up, and then I paid attention. A honu, a rainbow, and a sky full of stars, three separate pieces of Hawaiian wisdom, arriving on the same day to say the same thing.

Lionsgate is a reminder: slow down, trust the current, let your own light rise.
